Terms of Service
Effective Date: November 27, 2025 | Version: 1.0
Welcome to Voter's Right ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our platform at votersright.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
1. User-Generated Content Rights
You retain all ownership rights to the content you submit to Voter's Right, including opinions, comments, and other materials ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
This license allows us to:
- Display your opinions publicly on the platform
- Aggregate and analyze submissions for public sentiment reporting
- Share anonymized data with elected officials and researchers
- Process your content through our AI-powered analysis systems
You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit and represent that you have all necessary rights to grant us this license.
2. Submission Rules
Voter's Right offers two types of user accounts with different submission privileges:
Anonymous Users
Users without an account may submit one (1) opinion per IP address per 24-hour period. This limitation helps prevent spam and ensures authentic community participation.
Authenticated Users
Users with registered accounts may submit unlimited opinions. Account creation requires email verification to maintain platform integrity.
All submissions must comply with our content guidelines and are subject to moderation as described below.
3. Content Moderation Policy
Voter's Right employs a two-stage content moderation process to maintain a respectful and constructive platform:
AI-Powered Initial Review
All submissions are automatically processed using Claude Haiku (developed by Anthropic) to detect:
- Hate speech and discriminatory content
- Threats of violence or harassment
- Spam or promotional content
- Content violating community guidelines
Submissions flagged by our AI system are assigned a severity score (0-10). Content with high severity scores (7-10) may be automatically rejected or flagged for manual review.
Manual Admin Review
Submissions with moderate severity scores (5-7) or user-reported content undergo manual review by our moderation team via the admin dashboard. Our human moderators make final decisions on content approval, rejection, or user account actions.
We strive to balance free expression with community safety. Our moderation decisions prioritize creating a platform where diverse viewpoints can be shared respectfully.
4. Account Termination
Voter's Right reserves the right to suspend or terminate user accounts for violations of these Terms, including but not limited to:
- Repeated submission of spam or promotional content
- Posting hate speech, threats, or harassment
- Attempting to manipulate the platform or circumvent rate limiting
- Impersonating other individuals or organizations
- Violating applicable laws or regulations
Account suspensions may be temporary or permanent depending on the severity and frequency of violations. You will be notified of any account actions via email (if provided).
5. Liability Limitations
Voter's Right operates as an intermediary platform that facilitates the sharing of public opinions. We are not responsible for User Content posted by our community members. Specifically:
- We do not endorse, verify, or fact-check user opinions
- We are not liable for inaccuracies, errors, or harmful content posted by users
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of aggregated sentiment data
- We are not responsible for actions taken by elected officials based on platform data
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VOTER'S RIGHT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
For detailed information about how we handle your data, including what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under GDPR and CCPA, please review our Privacy Policy.
7. Data Retention and Deletion Policies
Submission Data
Opinions submitted to Voter's Right are retained indefinitely as part of our public record of civic engagement. Submissions are considered public contributions to democratic discourse and may be cited in research, reports, or policy discussions.
User Account Data
You may request deletion of your user account and associated personal information at any time by contacting us at privacy@votersright.com. Upon account deletion:
- Your email, profile information, and authentication credentials will be permanently deleted
- Your previously submitted opinions will remain on the platform but will be anonymized (disassociated from your account)
- We will retain anonymous IP rate-limiting records for 30 days for fraud prevention
8. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Informal Resolution: Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at support@votersright.com. We will work in good faith to address your concerns within 30 days.
Binding Arbitration (Optional): If informal resolution fails, you may elect to resolve the dispute through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. Arbitration decisions are final and binding.
You retain the right to pursue claims in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction.
9. Changes to These Terms
Voter's Right reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via:
- Email notification (for registered users)
- Prominent notice on the platform homepage
- Updated "Effective Date" at the top of this page
Your continued use of the Service after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must discontinue using the Service.
